Mula means root adhara means to support. The root chakra is all about security, stability, and our basic needs of survival. I spend a lot of time and energy creating content focusing on the root because it is the foundation of this work; it would be like building a house on sand. Without the root work, or some could say shadow work, all the rest would be faulty.
If we look at the emotional aspect of the root chakra, this covers our sense of well-being and belonging.
How we feel in our bodies and our connection to the earth. Our first chakra also deals with our connection to our family - blood or chosen. When issues arise in these areas, it indicates that we are not balanced in this area. Life is stressful, and people can be disappointing.
This doesn't mean we cannot work on ourselves to elevate our PEMS bodies to a higher vibration to rise above it.
This includes how we feel about ourselves. Do we trust our feeling of safety? Do we feel like we belong?

Our imbalances can also be engrained by ancestral genetics, a topic for another day. Still, the trauma can run deep, passing its need for healing down to the one who decides its time to break the generational curse and heal the lineage. Is that you? If you're reading this, chances are it is.

My favorite aspect the root gives us is the connection to the earth and nature!
It is such a grounding force it allows us to firmly plant into the planet and allow our spirit body to soar and fulfill its purpose.

Simple Things to do To Activate Your Root Chakra:
Get outside - spend time in nature. Take 10-20 minutes daily to be outdoors. You can garden, go to a local park, visit a waterfall, go camping, or do anything that involves being outside and breathing fresh air.
Take care of your feet - remember self-care? Take some time to take a detox foot bath or regular detox bath, then massage oil or lotion onto your feet. You can also try repeating some I Am affirmations while doing so.
Walk barefoot - ever heard of "grounding" or "earthing"? Studies have shown that it improves sleep quality, boosts well-being, and reduces pain immediately.
Physical movement - do you like to dance? Free movement to your favorite song while cleaning, getting ready for the day, or cooking will activate this energy wheel and keep your hips flexible.
Want to try meditation for this specific area? Find a quiet place and close your eyes.
Take several deep breaths, breathing in for a count of four, hold for 6 seconds, and slowly breathe out. Once you have calmed your body and mind, repeat the sound LAM pronounced LAHHHHM with each breath. Repeat for as long as needed.
